STAND North Wales CIC

Stronger Together for Additional Needs and Disabilities

STAND North Wales was formed by Yvonne Brookes and Sarah McCulloch as a not for profit Community Interest Company in response to the closure of organisations representing families of children and young adults with Speech, Language and Communication Needs, Additional Needs and Disabilities in North Wales.

Well what can we say 2020 has certainly been a year with a difference.  We have all had to adhere to a different way of living and it hasn’t been easy.  STAND North Wales CIC like many others have had to adapt to working in a totally different way while supporting our families.  But we continue to rise to the challenge with huge thanks to our amazing funders and supporters without whom we would not be able to support our families.

Thank you for being there - it means a-lot.

You are both special people who really care about the families and young people, honoured to be part of your journey.

Working together has empowered us to access the right support for our child and also realise we are not to blame for our child’s difficulties.

The courses you have given us were so invaluable we felt ready to tackle anything afterwards. We only wish we have found you earlier.

Not to be judged is worth more than anything, children don't come with a manual and you just help to make sense of everything in a supportive and safe way. Love you guys.

We are so pleased to hear that you have set up this invaluable organisation - we have found your help and support a great comfort. We were so lonely and isolated. We cannot wait to start attending your groups.

Thank you for everything- it is a pleasure to be part of your Youth club.  I feel safe when I am there and I know I can talk to you about anything.  You have given me loads of confidence and I now feel ready to go to Social scene.
